San Miguel Chicaj, Guatemala
June – September
Hello people I love! :)
For those of you who do not know, I am going to Guatemala for three months this summer. I leave in two days (Saturday, June 27) and come back in September. The training period for this school finished yesterday and now we are just packing up to leave. I am going down there with a medical team (for 6 of us going, this is our first time working in the medical field). Everyone else on our team of 30 are nurses, dentists or pharmacists.
The plan — although plans with Jesus never seem to work out that way:) — is to live in two villages (our team is splitting up) near San Miguel Chicaj, set up medical clinics when needed, teach health education/prevention as much as possible, and love the people of Guatemala. We would also like to help them specifically with their village and/or family needs if they are open to that.
I will be thinking of and praying for you all. I hope this summer is restful and full of joy!
